Born in Tradate in 1960, he starts his
theatre studies in 1976 in Switzerland (Canton Ticino).
He also studies in Milan in the School Quelli di Grok. He joins the
Conservatoire National des Artes du Cirque et du Mime in Paris where he
is also welcomed by the J.Rousillo Company.
In 1980 he joins the Teatro e Danza La Fenice Company directed by Carolyn Carlson
taking part in Undici onde (eleven waves) e Underwood.
In between 1982 and 1983 he works as choreographer and solo dancer in France, Italy, Switzerland, with several companies amongst which that of D.Petit and J.Rochereau and the Teatro Alogeno of Milan. In July 1984 he makes his debut in Montepulciano with a solo entitled Quello e quell'altro (This and the other). In 1984 he takes part in the foundation of the Sosta Palmizi Dance Company with which, as choreographer and dancer, he creates Il cortile (1985), Tufo (1986) and Perduti una notte (1988). In 1987, for Sosta Palmizi, he creates and dances in Dai colli with stage decoration by Andrea Pazienza. In 1987,he achieves various choreographies for Terry Gillian's film The adventures of the Baron of Munchausen. In 1988 he creates the choreography for the restaging of Lindsay Kemp's Alice. In 1989 he achieves Frail creation for the College Dance Company of Oslo. In 1990 he creates Rapsodia per una stalla for the Grif Theatre Company of Amsterdam. In 1992 he takes part in I Forestieri, choreography by Raffaella Giordano and produced by Sosta Palmizi Association, the Regional Dance Centre of Reggio Emilia, the I Teatri Association of Reggio Emilia and the Teatro Comunale of Cagli (Pesaro). In July 1992 he composes the choreography for his solo ballet entitled Balocco presented at the Festival Inteatro of Polverigi together with Raffaella Giordano's solo L'azzurro necessario. In 1993 he makes his debut with Edadaus at the Cabaret Voltaire in Turin, choreography Giorgio Rossi, produced by the Sosta Palmizi Association together with Cabaret Voltaire. In July '94 he makes his debut in Turin (Torino Danza in coproduction with the RomaEuropa Festival) with Danze rosa blu, dance based on an idea by Giorgio Rossi, choreography G.Rossi and R.Giordano. On 1995 he creates the choreography and dances in a ballet for three dancers Sul coraggio. Pasatua che va alla fontana which makes its debut in March at the Black Box Theatre of Oslo with music by Arturo Annecchino. In July of the same year, together with Raffaella Giordano he gathers the Sosta Palmizi Dance Company; they all take part in the International Dance Marathon (XXXVIII Festival dei Due Mondi of Spoleto) with excerpts from Il cortile. In August, with the same company, he takes part in the shooting of several scenes from Bernardo Bertolucci's Io ballo da sola, in which material from Il cortile and Sul coraggio, Pasatua che va alla fontana. In March 1996 he makes his début in Oslo, at the Black Box Theatre, with the choreography for Come nuvole with music by Jon Balke. In July 1996 he makes his debut with a solo ballet entitled E la tua veste bianca, based on poems by Quasimodo. In September 1996 he dances in Bruno de' Franceschi's opera "...e muoio di non morire". |
